The atlas · ways east
Six ways from JFK to the Hamptons
Door-to-door private cars, 40-minute flights, the train, the Jitney, or your own rental down NY-27. Each one is mapped, timed and priced — start with the overview, then open a route to watch it run.
Private Black-Car Transfer
A pre-booked sedan, SUV or Sprinter meets your flight inside Terminal arrivals and drives straight to your address on the East End.
Helicopter
Scheduled by-the-seat helicopters and private charters connect the New York heliports to six Hamptons landing zones in 35–40 minutes of flight time.
Seaplane
Eight-seat seaplanes lift off the East River at the Manhattan Skyport and touch down on the water near East Hampton, Sag Harbor or Montauk in about 45 minutes of flight.
LIRR Train
The Long Island Rail Road is the cheapest way east and the only one you can board directly from JFK: ride the AirTrain to Jamaica and connect onto the Montauk Branch.
Hampton Jitney (Bus)
The Hampton Jitney is the South Fork’s signature coach, with a connecting service that links JFK to its Montauk-Line stops.
Self-Drive / Rental Car
Pick up a rental at JFK and drive yourself the full ~95–115 miles east on NY-27.
